Why Choose an Arrow Valley Doodle?
Our mission is to nurture healthy, happy, and well-socialized puppies who are already introduced to basic training before joining their forever homes. To achieve this, our four children actively participate in the puppies’ care, play, and socialization. We raise the puppies right in our home, ensuring they are familiar with everyday household experiences from the very beginning.
Training starts as early as day three with early neurological stimulation (ENS) exercises. At around four weeks, we introduce potty pad training, and by 5-6 weeks, the puppies are accustomed to using a designated area for potty needs, resulting in minimal accidents. This early groundwork makes house training easier for new owners, as confirmed by outstanding feedback from families who have taken our puppies home. Additionally, we introduce crate exposure and basic crate training to support a smooth transition once they go to their new homes.
About Irish Doodles
The Irish Doodle is a delightful hybrid breed, resulting from crossing an Irish Setter with a Poodle (either standard or miniature). This charming mix often inherits the Irish Setter's playful, friendly personality and the Poodle's low-shedding coat. Known for their loyalty and affection, Irish Doodles make wonderful companions and excellent family dogs.
Standard Irish Doodles are medium to large-sized, typically standing up to 24 inches tall and weighing between 50 and 70 pounds. Miniature Irish Doodles are smaller, usually growing to a height of 15-17 inches and weighing between 25 and 40 pounds.
Irish Doodles are moderately active and thrive with regular exercise, such as daily walks or playtime. They are highly receptive to training, making them well-suited for families with children and other pets.
Irish Doodle Variations
Irish Doodles can vary significantly in size and coat texture. An F1 Irish Doodle is the result of breeding a purebred Poodle (size may vary) with a purebred Irish Setter. F2 Irish Doodles come from breeding two F1 Irish Doodles together, while F1B and F2B generations are achieved by crossbreeding an Irish Doodle back with one of the original parent breeds (either a Poodle or an Irish Setter), depending on which traits are being prioritized. Our puppies are F1B, bred back to a standard Poodle, making them 75% Poodle and 25% Irish Setter.
Irish Doodle coats are typically shaggy and wavy, although some may inherit curlier coats depending on the genetic mix.
Irish Doodle Temperament
Irish Doodles are intelligent, friendly, and well-mannered dogs. They are frequently described as devoted, outgoing, and confident. These dogs love to please their families and thrive as part of a pack. Thanks to the Poodle's history as a circus performer, Irish Doodles may also display a playful, clown-like sense of humor that brings joy to those around them. Additionally, they are naturally easy to groom and house-train, making them an ideal pet choice for many families.
Our Irish Doodle, "Honey," has been an incredible addition to our family and has proven to be the perfect companion for our young children. We couldn’t ask for a better family dog!
